Guy Left In Tears After Trying To Grope Woman…

A post on BoredPanda was, IMHO, pretty awesome in that a groping bastard got exactly what he deserved – a thorough ass kicking.  Though several seem to disagree, the casual and cavalier attitude you can just do what you want for whatever rationale you’ve invented for yourself would be a lot less likely if there were direct and instant consequences.

Lets review some basics of good behavior:

  • Don’t touch without consent – you have no rights over another person
  • Its not hard to ask permission – or are you that much of a coward?
  • Accept the answer and move on – show some dignity and respect
  • Beware the unsuspected hand of karma to prove it if needed

I believe EVERY woman should learn self-defense basics.  Why??  Why not teach people how to behave?  Well we are teaching that – but there’s also the fact that many folks believe rules don’t apply to them.  Whether due to personality disorders or drunkenness, the root cause is somewhat irrelevant to the consequence of bad behavior. Ideally good behavior (including hands-off without consent) is common sense.  But then I also say common sense is rarely common, and the judgments most make rarely seems to make sense.

Think about the rationale behind skills in Defensive Driving: you can teach good behaviors and habits to others but you must deal with the REALITY that not everyone will accept them.  As such, you need to prepare and handle yourself as the situation requires.  Its the reality that we must manage to, not the intent or the dream.

Educate, increase awareness, but also be prepared defend those higher principles – with fist and tooth if need be, for some people only respond with direct threats of their survival.
